Wellness Gifts

My favorite gift is something consumable that provides a health benefit. No more trinkets to dust or "things" to find a place for! For this purpose we have vitamins, natural and organic beef jerky, as well as a complete line of paraben-free skin care products and showering products, as well as natural pampering products. Now the great thing about these products is that they are things that everyone needs, but might not spend the money on themselves. Once they receive them and use them, they will see what a difference there is and the real value of the gift appears. Sure, I know everyone doesn't need beef jerky. But everyone does need a healthy snack option, and beef jerky is a great snack to travel with (unlike chocolate, which tends to melt!) When you provide a healthier alternative to someone, such as paraben-free products, you are helping them try a product they might fall in love with that is much better for them.

Another gift which is really practical, but a bit more expensive, makes a great gift for a parent or an adult child. It is the Showerwise shower filter. Realizing the danger in what comes through the conventional showerhead helps you see the value in this gift. While your parent or child might not know what you know, help them learn, and then install the showerhead yourself if they don't want to listen. Sometimes you have to do what you have to do! Of course we don't want to forget about the children, and we have gifts for them as well. Our favorite is our wooden building toys. We like to make handmade gifts every year, and suggest you do the same! We will be making photo ornaments, laminated cookbook with healthy recipes, chocolate chip pancake mix, and lots of other things our children can help with. If you have a video camera and family who don't get to see your children very often, make a DVD of your favorite clips and send that!

Every year that goes by, we get more practical and less materialistic. And there's nothing wrong with that. We are learning to live with less and to live well, and we are teaching our children to do the same. We hope that you have gotten some ideas here that help you enjoy your holiday!
